Wonder twins activated!

2/17/09 33w6d

The babies decided they wanted to enter the world and so they did at 3:30 AM.
They were almost 34 weeks. This happened to be the email update from Baby Center I got on 34 weeks.

How your baby's growing:
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds - like the average cantaloupe - and is almost 18 inches long.
The fat layers — which will help regulate body temperature once born — are filling them out, making him rounder.
Their skin is also smoother than ever, central nervous system is maturing and lungs are continuing to mature as well.
Babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

Mommy and babies (who are both in neonatal ICU) are doing fine but I will update more when I have more energy to post pictures. Please pray for the Powell twins and their quick maturation out of NICU.
