You could be a picnic and your kids could be the condiments. One of the parents could be a hot dog (seen these at PartyCity) and the other a picnic table or red checked tablecloth.

Oooh... I love that picnic idea! I'm always looking for good ideas. One year my daughter insisted on being an oreo cookie. We took two large pieces of foam board and we circled it. Then we covered it with a chocolate brown felt and did the details in black. I used quilting batting to stuff the cookie wafers and then made them into a vest by attaching them with pieces of felt at the top. then i dressed her in a white, velvetty pj one piece! It was cute!
Well of course there are always families from TV/the movies: Adams Family, Brady Bunch, etc. Or a series of characters like Batman, Robin, Catwoman, etc.

I think a great family costume would be condiments. Like the parents could be Ketchup and Mustard and then the kids could be Salt and Pepper! How fun!

What if you changed up the Five Little Monkeys book, and made it two little monkeys, mama and the Dr. My kids LOVE this book and we have two kids and they LOVE to just act it out with the two of them, and my hubby plays the Dr. :)
