My First Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. I had a great first Mother's Day and I look forward to many, many more.

The weekend started off badly because I blew up at Rod on Saturday. I have been with the boys 24/7 and do just about everything for the boys. Rod comes home and helps me but I still felt that I wasn't getting enough support. Because he has been working, I try to give him as much rest as possible so that he can still function during work hours. Simply put, Rod cannot handle tired. He gets cranky, speaks incoherently and has no attention span. He even falls asleep mid sentence. How is that possible.

I am working on as little sleep as he is. I don't get any naps during the day. If I am lucky, I will get to shut my eyes for 30 minutes. I do not function at 100 percent but I think a woman handles tired better. It must be some sort of prehistoric genetic wiring where a mother has to care for her offspring no matter how brain dead she may feel.

One of the things I wanted for the day was to not wash a single bottle. I can't stand having more than 4 bottles piling up in the sink. The bottles were soaking and Rod kept saying he would get to it. But after he straightened up the living room and cleaned the guest bathroom, he still had not gotten around to it. I couldn't stand it anymore. I had to wash them. It was like they were calling to me. I think that is one instinct that is just too strong to ignore.

Rod and his family went to a whole dollar restaurant for lunch and came to the house afterwards. I decided I did not want to venture out in public. Even for a 2 hour trip out, it would be such a hassle carrying everything that we need for babies. And I did not want fussy babies in a crowded restaurant.

Dean and Samuel got lots of love from Grandma and Papa and his aunt and uncle this weekend. They got special loving from their cousin Maggie who cannot wait for them to get bigger so she can really play with them. She is so great with them and I see best friends in the making.

I got the Wii Fit from Rod. I have been wanting this to help get me back in shape but when will I find time to Wii Fit my belly away? I got gift certificates to Michael's from the boys. Apparently, they want me to scrapbook their life. I have been a bad scrapping mom and do not know when I can get around to scrapping again.

I updated photos in the April album

I had a great first Mother's day and it made up for the fact that I had to wash bottles number 306-312.
