37th year

My birthday was earlier this month and I totally forgot to write anything about it. I am not one to make a big deal about it but I had a really good week. My work team lead bought my lunch and that was nice already. Then the next day, my department surprised me with a lunch party. It was quite a production and in hind site, I should have known since I kept seeing them huddled together and whispering. There was so much food. We had tuna sandwiches, fruit and veggies, chips and salsa and cake. It was pretty great.

At home, Rod surprised me with cake. He picked it because it was chocolate and blue, my favorite color combo. The beautiful tulips were from a dear friend who is most generous and kind to remember my birthday and to not let me forget that I am getting older. (Walter, you will always be older than me!)

As much as I do not like being an odd numbered age, turning 37 was not painful. It may be because I am still considering 37 to be mid thirties. Next year, I may not be so calm and might actually go into my late thirties kicking and screaming.

Even though we are now the same age, I am still older than you (2 months difference) I will share some of the wisdom I have received in being so much older than you.
Being 37 is much like being 36. You still feel old. :)

Oh that cake looked divine!
